What was your first impression?
Extremely high expectations! Every time I would pass by the line would be out the door and down the hall. With clientele like that I automatically figured the food had to be banging. Menu was a little more expensive then I normally like to pay, but with lines as long as they were it HAS to be worth the money.
Well was it worth the money?
Absolutely NOT! Huge let down. I ordered the Roadhouse Buck (which is thick sliced tri tip with red ranch sauce, signature roadhouse onions and bleu cheese) and I was very displeased. Meat was tough and borderline cold, bread was cold and hard. Basically, the onions and bleu cheese were the only things that were decent. The combination of the too big, cold bread and the amount of onions and bleu cheese completely overwhelmed the sandwich. It might as well had been called the onion and bleu cheese, big, cold bread sandwich. Maybe I caught them on an off day...maybe I had the employee who hates his job making my sandwich. I thought that going later in the day when there was no line would lead to me getting a nice, hot, fresh sandwich for me to sink my teeth into. Can't always get what you want I guess.
Was the service at least OK?
Service was cool. Wasn't really much to do other then take and process my order. Staff seemed to be pretty friendly though.
Anything else?
Over priced sandwich that is in my opinion not worth it at all!
Recommendation?
Try at your own risk! Maybe you'll have a better experience then I did. Again, giving the benefit of the doubt maybe it was an off time for them. Regardless, when you have a rep of the best grilled meat in the area you need to be on point from the time you open until the time you close. Maybe some time in the distant future I will give them a second shot, but for right now I think they are completely overrated. If you want a GOOD, over priced sandwich...I recommend going to Lenny's next door.
